Cloisonne is a unique art form that originated in Beijing during the Yuan Dynasty (1271 - 1368). This process involves the creation of partitions in the enamel in order to hold the colours separate .The range of cloisonne pens was dropped by sheaffer before it was but into full production.The cost of producing the pens was very expensive and it was felt the retail price would have been too high to market.
